About Tricia Hall
 
Tricia has worked in the meetings and association management industry for twenty three years.

Her company specializes in meeting planning, association management, hotel contract negotiations, training, and consulting, and serves clients across the United States.

 
Professional background
 
Tricia earned her B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her meeting management career in 1986 at the Texas Center for the Judiciary, where she planned judicial education conferences.

In the summer of 1996, Tricia joined the Texas Medical Association; at TMA, she managed and served as the executive director for several medical specialty societies. In 2002, Tricia relocated to New Mexico and founded her own company, Tricia Hall & Associates.

 
Memberships and certifications
 
Tricia is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the Texas Society of Association Executives, the New Mexico Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives.

She earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 1993 and her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 1997. She continually recertifies in both disciplines.

 
Awards and honors
 
Tricia is a past president of both the Texas Hill Country Chapter and the New Mexico Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. During her presidency of the Texas Hill Country Chapter, the chapter was awarded Honorable Mention for the Chapter of the Year award, competing with large chapters worldwide. For an unprecedented two years in a row, she was selected MPI-THCC Chapter Planner of the Year. And, in 1997 and 1999 she received the chapter's prestigious President's Award.

In 2000 she was honored with the Texas Society of Association Executive’s Professional Excellence Award, the most prestigious award bestowed upon a Texas association staff member.

 
Professional activities
 
Tricia is an active member of many industry organizations and serves on several boards, committees, councils, and task forces.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Society of Association Executives and is a member of the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau Customer Advisory Board.

She is a past president of the MPI New Mexico Chapter and the MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter.

Tricia serves as the meeting planner representative on the task force for the City of Las Cruces Convention Center Study.

While in Austin, she served on the board of directors for the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau; as a member of its public relations committee, she helped to develop a white paper on the city’s hospitality/meetings industry.

 
CMP study courses
 
Tricia has chaired and taught Certified Meeting Professional study courses for Meeting Professionals International, Society of Government Meeting Professionals, and the Texas Society of Association Executives. She was instrumental in developing a CMP Study Course for the Texas Hill Country Chapter of MPI and most recently the CMP Review Seminar for the New Mexico Chapter of MPI.
 
Speaking and training
 
A speaker and trainer for numerous industry organizations, Tricia's areas of expertise include meeting management, contract negotiations, faculty training and development, association management, CMP review courses, training for bureau, hotel and meeting planning staff, and professional ethics.

One of her programs was awarded National Program of the Year by the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.

 

 
Tricia and her husband, Gary, have a home between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico. In their leisure time they enjoy golf, gourmet cooking and exploring their new home state.
